Tenebrae is latin for "darkness" and is an ancient gathering remembering the Passion of Christ, the price paid for the sins of the world, and the hope found in Jesus sacrifice for us. Come for a time of reflection, singing, and meditation as we walk through Jesus' final moments before his death through the unique Tenebrae Service. As we read the account of His death we will one by one extinguish 15 candles, the last representing Christ, followed by the strepitus or "loud noise" symbolizing the earthquake, the tearing of the temple curtain, and the burial of Jesus.
